Questions we answer
- Material substitution: is this component actually the specified grade — and did the substitution cause the failure?
- Welding quality: do the welds meet the specification, and did a welding flaw initiate the failure? Weld failures explained →
- Heat treatment: was the component correctly heat treated, and what do hardness and microstructure say?
- Casting and forging defects: inherent defect or service damage?
- Early / warranty failures: manufacturing cause, design cause or operating cause — with the evidence to show which.
- Incoming-quality disputes: independent verification when supplier and buyer disagree about what was delivered.
Facts first, argument second
MTIS establishes the technical facts — material condition, fabrication quality, failure mechanism — in plain commercial and technical language that both sides can act on. Most supplier-quality questions settle once the facts are established; the metallurgy is usually less negotiable than the contract. We work in technical and commercial terms; we do not provide legal services.
Where our processing capability helps
MTIS's limited in-house materials-processing capability supports sectioning, sample preparation and practical exploration of replacement routes — see Manufacturing & Repair Support — while verification testing is designed by MTIS and delivered through the right partner laboratory.
